George W. WOODCOOK 74 died at his home Monday morning after an
illness of some 8 weeks. He was born Aug 15, 1870 near
Jacksonville, Ill the son of David & Amanda Woodcook. His
marriage to Lucy BURTON in Paris, Missouri was solemnized March
20, 1892. Mr. Woodcook was a resident of Waveland for 35 years
having been engaged in trucking and friehg delivery for the
Vandalia RR at this place. He was a member of the Christian
Church and IOOF [Independent Order of Odd Fellows] Lodge. The survivors are the widow; two sons,
Delmar and Eugene both of Waveland, a brother, Walter of
Washington State, a granddaughter, Shirley Woodcook. One son,
Charles preceded him in death. The funeral was conducted at 2
o'clock Wed. from the Machledt Funeral Home by the Rev. HD
Trickey, burial in Old Union Cemetery. - kbz
